SILVER CUP THIS WEEKEND AT SILVER DOLLAR SPEEDWAY IN CHICO

A strong field of drivers is assembling for this weekend's Silver Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, with more than 70 cars expected across the Winged 360, Wingless Spec Sprint, and IMCA Modified events. Friday's Winged 360 show will pay $2,000 to win and Saturday's will pay $3,000. The Saturday Wingless race will be a Hunt Magnetos points race for $1,000 to win and the Saturday Modified show will be the opener of the NorCal Modified Challenge. In addition to 30 Modified entries, the 360 show has attracted drivers such as Willie Croft, Shane Golobic, and Andy Forsberg.

BECKER AND HALL CLAIM SHERM TOLLER MEMORIAL WINS AT MARYSVILLE

Sean "The Shark" Becker and Scott Hall were winners in Saturday's Sherm Toller Memorial at Marysville Raceway Park. Becker won $2500 for the Winged 360 Sprint Car feature that included an 18 lap green flag battle with 2012 Johnny Key Classic winner Tommy Tarlton. Becker distanced himself from Tarlton in a green-white-checkered finish for the win with Greg Decaires third. Hall topped a 12 car turnout for the wingless win. BECKER VIDEO INTERVIEW

CLAUSON NARROWLY MISSES CLEAN SWEEP OF COPPER ON DIRT

Carmichael's Bryan Clauson made a big statement over the weekend in the Copper on Dirt at Canyon Speedway Park for USAC/CRA Sprints and USAC Western Midgets. Over two nights of competition, Clauson won three of the four features, only failing to win Saturday's USAC/CRA event which was won by RJ Johnson.  Notably five-time defending USAC/CRA champion Mike Spencer finished 23rd in Saturday's USAC/CRA event, while Kyle Larson started shotgun in Saturday's Midget field but stormed through the pack to finish fifth.

WORLD OF OUTLAWS WESTERN SWING ATTRACTING ALL-STAR DRIVER ROSTER

A variety of talented drivers will make special appearances with the World of Outlaws over its 12 race swing through the Western United States in March & April. Kyle Larson will drive the Williams #0 at Las Vegas on March 6th and 7th, and will be joined by 2011 World of Outlaws champion Jason Meyers. Meyers plans to run the entire swing for Tarlton Racing. Headlining the news is that 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart will be on hand for the WoO event at the new Stockton 99 Speedway Dirt Track on Friday March 22. Smoke's presence is expected to boost the event to a sell-out.

WEST COAST RACING SEASON STARTS THIS WEEKEND WITH FOUR EVENTS

Three Arizona races and one race in California will help send-off the 2013 West Coast racing season this weekend. On Friday night, the "Copper on Dirt" will be at Canyon Speedway Park offering racing for USAC National & Western Midgets, USAC/CRA Sprints, West Coast Late Models, and IMCA Modifieds. On Saturday the Lucas Oil Modifieds begin their 2013 campaign at Havasu 95 Speedway while over in Phoenix, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, West will have their first points race. The Sherm Toller Memorial at Marysville Raceway Park is the beginning of the California Sprint Car season, with Winged 360s and Wingless Spec Sprints on the card.
